When learning a certain language, we always start with the greetings. Similarly, it happens when you start a conversation in Tagalog that you need to greet someone as a way to open up a conversation. In the Philippines, we greet someone in the following situations:

• Seeing someone after sometime
• Getting to know a stranger
• Asking for help (as an opener)
• Answering phone calls
